Naphazoline + Chlorpheniramine Maleate + Methylcellulose + Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate is a combination of four medicines: Naphazoline , Chlorpheniramine Maleate , Methylcellulose and Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate. Naphazoline is a decongestant which narrows the blood vessels in the eye, thereby reducing redness and inflammation (swelling). Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for red, itchy, watery eyes. Methylcellulose is a lubricant similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort in the eye. Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate is an antimicrobial preservative.
