How Pantoprazole + Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium works
Pantoprazole + Chlordiazepoxide + Clidinium is a combination of three medicines: Pantoprazole, Chlordiazepoxide and Clidinium which treat irritable bowel syndrome. Pantoprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which in turn relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Chlordiazepoxide is a benzodiazepine. It works by increasing the action of a chemical messenger (GABA) which suppresses the abnormal and excessive activity of the nerve cells in the brain. Clidinium is an anticholinergic medication. It works by relaxing the muscles in the stomach and gut (intestine). It stops sudden muscle contractions (spasms), thereby relieving cramps, pain, bloating, and discomfort.
