Expert advice for Theophylline + Ketotifen
- You have been prescribed Theophylline + Ketotifen for the treatment of asthma.
- It does not work right away and should not be used to relieve sudden breathing problems. Always keep a fast-acting (rescue) inhaler with you.
- If at any time your breathing gets worse, please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway.
- If you are due to have an operation or any dental treatment, tell the person carrying out the treatment which medicines you are taking, as some anesthetics can interfere with Theophylline + Ketotifen.
- Some vaccines, such as the flu vaccine, may also affect the level of this medicine in the body. Make sure you tell your doctor about any vaccinations you have.
- Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse.
- Try to keep your regular appointments with your doctor. This is so your doctor can review your condition on a regular basis.
