Atropik Injection is used to treat bradycardia (slow heart rate). यह कार्डिएक अरेस्ट के मामलों में सामान्य दिल की धड़कन को दोबारा शुरू करने में मदद करता है. इस इन्जेक्शन को लार का स्त्रावण कम करने के लिए जनरल एनेस्थीसिया से पहले भी दिया जाता है. यह कुछ कीटनाशक विषाक्तता के लिए एक एंटीडोट के रूप में भी काम करता है.

Bradycardia refers to a heart rate that is slower than the normal heart rate. Atropik Injection helps to bring back the blood pressure within normal range. This relaxes the heart, treats decreased heart rate (bradycardia) and prevents any sudden fall of blood pressure or even serious complications that might have otherwise followed due to low blood pressure. इसे अस्पताल में डॉक्टर या नर्स द्वारा इन्जेक्शन के रूप में दिया जाता है. इसे खुद से नहीं लगाना चाहिए. How Atropik Injection works
Atropik Injection is an anticholinergic medication. यह रासायनिक मैसेंजर (एसिटाइलकोलीन) की क्रिया को अवरुद्ध करके काम करता है. यह सर्जरी से पहले ग्रंथियों से होने वाले स्रावों (लार, पसीना आदि) को सुखाने में मदद करता है, हार्ट की कम दर को बढ़ाता है और आंतों में मरोड़ों (स्पेसम) को कम करता है. यह कुछ प्रकार की विषाक्तताओं में एंटीडोट के रूप में भी काम करता है और कुछ मसल रिलेक्सिंग दवाओं के साइड इफेक्ट को उलट देता है.

Some of the signs of overdose are dilation of the pupils, difficulty in swallowing, hot dry skin, flushing, inability to pass urine, rapid breathing, increased heart rate, and hyperactivity. However, this rarely happens as Atropik Injection is administered under the care of a highly trained doctor. If you suspect you have been given this medicine in excess, you should tell the doctor immediately.
Q. What should I avoid while receiving Atropik Injection
Avoid becoming overheated or dehydrated during exercise and in hot weather. Atropik Injection can decrease sweating and you may be more prone to heatstroke. Drink lots of fluids to stop fluid loss.
Q. Can Atropik Injection be given to pregnant women
No, Atropik Injection should not be given during pregnancy since the medicine may cross the placental barrier and may cause tachycardia (rapid heartbeat) in the fetus.
Q. Does Atropik Injection cause dryness in the mouth
Yes, dry mouth is a common side-effect of this medicine. Frequent mouth rinses, good oral hygiene, increased water intake and sucking sugarless candy may help.
Q. Does Atropik Injection make you sleepy
This medicine may cause drowsiness and blurred vision. Do not drive or do anything else that could be dangerous until you know how this medicine affects you. Do not drive until your pupils are no longer dilated.
