Cospiaq 25mg Tablet is used to treat type 2 diabetes, heart failure, and chronic kidney disease (CKD). It helps lower blood sugar levels in people with diabetes when used with diet and exercise. In heart failure and CKD, it helps reduce hospitalizations and slow disease progression.
Cospiaq 25mg Tablet can be taken with or without food, in the dose and duration prescribed by your doctor. For best results, continue to follow your doctor’s advice on diet and exercise. Stay well-hydrated, especially during hot weather or physical activity, and attend regular check-ups to monitor your blood sugar, kidney function, and overall health.
The most common side effects of Cospiaq 25mg Tablet are urinary tract infections and female genital yeast infections (vaginal mycosis). Maintain good personal hygiene, drink plenty of fluids, and contact your doctor if these symptoms persist or worsen. Some people, especially those taking insulin or sulfonylureas, may experience low blood sugar (hypoglycemia). If this happens, consume something sugary and inform your doctor if it occurs frequently.

How Cospiaq Tablet works
Cospiaq 25mg Tablet works by selectively blocking a protein in the kidneys called the sodium-glucose co-transporter 2 (SGLT2). This protein is responsible for reabsorbing glucose from the urine back into the bloodstream. Cospiaq 25mg Tablet inhibits this protein, causing the excess glucose to be eliminated through the urine, which helps lower blood sugar levels in people with type 2 diabetes. Additionally, this process leads to mild salt and water loss, helping to reduce the workload on the heart and protect kidney function, thereby lowering the risk of heart failure and progression of chronic kidney disease.
