Kofarest-PD Syrup effectively treats wet cough (cough with mucus) in children. It helps in thinning the mucus by increasing its water content. This relieves throat irritation and clears congestion, enabling easy breathing in your child.

Give Kofarest-PD Syrup to your child orally, with or without food. Give it with food to reduce the chances of stomach upset. You may be required to give this medicine to your child for a few days to weeks, depending upon your child’s clinical condition and severity of the illness. Do not stop the medication abruptly by yourself, even if your child starts to feel better. Check the medicine label thoroughly and never combine this medicine with other cold and flu medicines as that may lead to side effects.

Kofarest-PD Syrup may have some common and temporary side effects. These may include excessive salivation, fatigue, headache, dizziness, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach discomfort, irregular heartbeat, rash, tremors, and numbness or tingling sensation in the hands or feet. In case of worrisome episodes, call your child’s doctor right away.

Kofarest-PD Syrup contains three active medicines. Each ingredient present in this medicine plays a pivotal role. Ambroxol is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Guaifenesin is an expectorant that decreases the stickiness of the mucus and helps in its removal from the airways. Terbutaline is a bronchodilator that relaxes and widens the muscles in the airways.

For cough, cold -- Prevent dehydration. Fluids may help thin secretions and soothe an irritated throat. Dry, hacking coughs respond to honey in hot water, tea, or lemon juice. Drink plenty of fluids to replace those lost from sweating and having a runny nose, get plenty of rest, eat healthily ? a low-fat, high-fibre diet is recommended, including plenty of fresh fruit and vegetables. OTC drugs, gargling with salt water and sucking on menthol sweets can help relieve a sore throat and blocked nose, are generally safe for older children and adults to take, but might not be suitable for babies, young children. Avoid applying Vicks VapoRub to babies and toddlers.You should never give children under 4 years of age over-the-counter cough and cold products without checking with your child's doctor. These medicines may harm young children. There are many underlying causes of cough and cold. Different cause needs different treatment. Specific treatment cannot be given unless we establish exact underlying cause. Final and perfect diagnosis cannot be done without doing clinical examination of patient. Please consult me or any other Paediatrician. will take detail history and will examine patient in detail. All information will be used to determine exact underlying cause of problem. Monitor temperature of Patient. If Patient has fever place a cool, damp washcloth on your child's forehead. Give your Patient a lukewarm tub bath or a sponge bath. Give a sponge bath as follows: - ? Use lukewarm water [90?F (32.2?C) to 95?F (35?C)]. Do not use cold water, ice, or rubbing alcohol, which will lower the child's body temperature too quickly. ? Sponge for 20 to 30 minutes. ? Stop if the child starts to shiver. If your child doesn't like the sponge bath or doesn't feel better after the bath, there is no need to give another one. You can use paracetamol also along with above measures to control fever till you consult Dr. will determine underlying disorders by clinical examination which range from mild conditions to the most serious of bacterial and viral illnesses and will prescribe medicines accordingly.There are many underlying causes of Patient?s symptoms. Different cause needs different treatment. Specific treatment cannot be given unless we establish exact underlying cause. Oxidative substances are found in certain drugs, foods, and beverages. The body also produces oxidative substances during severe infections or illnesses such as typhoid fever, pneumonia, or kidney failure. Most drugs with strong oxidative effects are of kinds: 1.? ? ? ? antibiotics of the sulfa group 2.? ? ? ? medicines for malaria 3.? ? ? ? some medicines for feverWhen a child has taken oxidative substances and suddenly shows the signs and symptoms of hemolytic anemia, he is said to have a hemolytic crisis. During such crisis, the goal of doctors and nurses is to prevent the harmful effects from getting worse. Blood transfusion, oxygen, and folic acid may be given.Tell your child's pediatrician that your child has G6PD deficiency. This is very important so that he will not prescribe oxidative drugs in case your child gets ill.
