3D-CT Scan Pelvis
Understanding 3D-CT Scan Pelvis
What is 3D-CT Scan Pelvis?
3D CT pelvis is used to get detailed images of the pelvis, the area between the hip bones. A CT scan combines digital computers and rotating beams of X-rays to get cross-sectional slices of your body. CT scans provide detailed information regarding bones, muscles, soft tissues, blood vessels, etc. The doctor recommends this test to determine the cause of pelvic pain and diagnose disorders like appendicitis, Crohn’s disease, tumors, kidney stones, etc.
Pregnant women are advised not to take CT scans because of the risk to the fetus; an ultrasound scan would be preferred. Individuals may be instructed not to eat or drink for a few hours before the test if the scan requires a contrast material. Some people may develop a mild allergic reaction due to the contrast material.
