CBCT - Lower Jaw
Understanding CBCT - Lower Jaw
What is CBCT - Lower Jaw?
A CBCT (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) Lower Jaw is an imaging technique that creates a three-dimensional image of the teeth and the surrounding bones, nerves, and soft tissue using cone-shaped X-ray beams. This procedure helps to study the lower jaw, neck, ears, nose, and throat and determine any problems related to them. It helps dental professionals observe any abnormal teeth besides the assessing cleft palate, diagnosis of dental cavities, and root canal. It also helps in measuring and treatment of jaw tumours and planning reconstructive surgery.
This quick, pain-free, and non-invasive procedure helps diagnose and plan treatment for dental problems. It provides more information compared to a regular X-ray. Patients are advised to remove any jewellery or metal objects before the procedure.
