CT Left Wrist
Understanding CT Left Wrist
What is CT Left Wrist?
Computed Tomography (CT) Left Wrist is an imaging technique that can be used to visualize the bones, joints, and the surrounding soft tissues of the wrist. It is a diagnostic procedure in which the rotating beams of X-rays are used to create create a three-dimensional image of the hand and wrist.
This test is prescribed by the doctor to detect the fractures of the bones of the wrists joint that are not visible on a simple X-ray, to detect the cause of any unexplained pain in the wrist joint, to detect any infection, injury, or inflammation of the soft tissues like the muscle, the tendons, and ligaments of the wrist. This test can also be useful in guiding and monitoring biopsy or operative procedures.
CT exams generally use a small amount of radiation and are therefore considered relatively safer as compared to X-rays.
