Understanding CT Scan Brain Angiography (CTA)
What is CT Scan Brain Angiography (CTA)?
Computed tomography (CT) angiography brain is a procedure that provides detailed, 3D illustrations of the blood vessels in your brain. A CT machine uses X-rays and computer analysis to achieve the same. The output of this test is more precise than ultrasounds and MRI scans. It is used to monitor the blood flow through the scanned blood vessels. The entire procedure takes about 15-30 minutes. If you experience nausea, itching, sneezing, inflammation, and/or any other abnormal sign, notify the technologist immediately. It is a safe procedure for all patients.
