What is NCCT Scan Hip Joints?
Non-Contrast Computed Tomography (NCCT) of the hip joint is a procedure in which the rotating X-rays beams are used to create cross-sectional images of the hip joint, which can then be used to form a three-dimensional image of the hip bone and structures surrounding it.
This procedure is used to detect any fractures involving the hip bone following an accident. It is also used to diagnose diseases like osteoarthritis or dislocation of the hip joint.It helps the doctor to obtain presurgical measurements for certain hip conditions.
Patients who are pregnant should inform the doctor before undergoing an NCCT. An abnormal NCCT may present with the presence of tumour or infectious lesions involving the joint.
