The X - Ray Soft Tissue Neck AP & LAT Views is a less invasive test which helps to visualize the overall airway structures. This test covers the three regions of the pharynx (connects mouth and nose to food pipe), epiglottis, glottis and subglottis. Dense structures such as the bones, appear white and softer body tissues, such as the skin and muscles appear darker. The actual exposure time to radiation is usually less than a second, although the overall test may take 15-20 minutes.
