Information about Accurex All Test Urinalysis Reagent Strips
Accurex All Test Urinalysis Reagent Strips is a disposable urine dipstick, ready to use plastic strip on which are affixed 3 reagent areas for testing, when dipped in a urine sample – strip colour is read visually within 30 sec. A urine test strip or dipstick is a basic diagnostic tool to determine pathological changes in a patient’s urine in standard urinalysis. Accurex Tristix requires no additional laboratory equipment for testing.
Uses:
Tristix is a test strip used for semi-quantitative estimation of glucose protein and pH in the urine sample.

Uses:
Tristix is a test strip used for semi-quantitative estimation of glucose protein and pH in the urine sample.
Product Specifications and Features:
- Tristix is a disposable, ready-to-use plastic strip on which are affixed 3 reagent areas for testing, glucose, protein and pH
- When dipped in a urine sample the strip colour is read visually, within 30 sec, requiring no additional laboratory equipment for testing
- The Tristix test strips are packed in an air-tight plastic bottle containing a dessicant
- This test is based on a double sequential enzyme reaction. Glucose oxidase converts urine glucose to gluconic acid and hydrogen peroxide. Subsequently, Peroxidase converts hydrogen peroxide into water and nascent oxygen. The nascent oxygen liberates iodine from potassium iodide to produce colours ranging from green to brown depending on the – urine glucose concentration
- The test is based on the principle of the protein-error-of indicator. At a constant pH, the development of any green colour is due to the presence of protein. Colours change from yellow for negative through yellow-green and green to greenish–blue for positive reactions depending on the urine protein concentration
- The test is based on a double indicator principle that gives a broad range of colours covering the entire urinary pH range. Colours range from orange through yellow and green to blue depending on the pH of the urine
Directions For Use:
- Collect fresh, well-mixed, uncentrifuged urine in a clean and dry container
- Remove one strip at a time, from the bottle and replace the cap immediately and tightly
- Dip the reagent areas into urine for 1 to 2 seconds, While removing the strip from the urine run the edge of the strip along the container's wall and tap to remove excess urine from the strip
- Hold the strip close to the colour chart provided on the label, and match carefully. The protein and pH results can be read immediately. The glucose results should be read at 30 seconds. The colour charts should be matched under good light (but not direct sunlight)
- Avoid touching the strip directly on the colour chart as this will result in soiling the chart
- Interpret the results if the colour obtained falls between two adjacent colour blocks
- Colour changes that occur after 30 seconds are of no quantitative diagnostic value
Safety Information:
- Tristix is for in vitro diagnostic use
- Store at room temperature under 35C, do not refrigerate
- The product should not be used after the expiration date
