Information about AOS Bergamot Oil
AOS Bergamot Oil is extracted from the cold-pressed rind (peel) of the nearly ripe fruit of the bergamot tree, scientifically known as citrus bergamia and belonging to the Rutaceae family. This unique tree emerges from the hybridisation of the lemon tree and the orange tree, resulting in its distinctive pear-like shape and vibrant yellow hue. The name "Bergamot" originates from Bergamo, a city in Lombardy where the oil was initially introduced. While it is a tropical plant by nature, it thrives remarkably well in European regions. The captivatingly sweet aroma of Bergamot Oil, known for its sweet aroma properties, has led to its widespread use in numerous perfumes, often occupying the top note. Unlike many other essential oils, Bergamot Oil is obtained through the steam distillation process.
