Information about Bixa Botanical Guduchi Powder
Bixa Botanical Guduchi Powder contains giloy (Botanical Name – Tinospora Cordifolia), widely known as Guduchi, heart leaved moonseed or Tinospora. Giloy is indigenous to the tropical areas of India, Myanmar, Srilanka. There are reports that the plant extracts have active compounds in the form of alkaloids, glycosides, lactones, bitters and steroids. All these active compounds have immune modulator and physiological roles of different types, thereby demonstrating the plant's diverse versatility.
In Ayurveda, Tinospora or Guduchi is considered a valuable herb and used in various generic formulations. As per Ayurvedic Text, Tinospora is pungent, bitter in taste, sweet after digestion and hot in potency. Guduchi supports mitigation of all three Doshas (Vatta, pitta, Kapha), helps in digestion, removes toxic waste (Aam) and rekindles the digestive fire.
Giloy helps in various ailments like skin diseases, jaundice, piles, high blood glucose level, fever of unknown origin, and immunity modulator and rejuvenation therapy.
Aqueous Tinospora extracts have been reported to influence the cytokine production, stimulation and activation of immune effectors cells and prevention of oxidative stress on cells. Guduchi Extract helps to exhibit a reduction in eosinophil count, stimulation of B lymphocytes, macrophages, white blood cells and average haemoglobin percentage. Hence Guduchi extract may be used in various ailments as adjuvant therapy. A study has also shown anti-diabetic potential through mitigating oxidative stress (OS), promoting insulin secretion, and inhibiting gluconeogenesis and glycogenolysis, thereby regulating blood glucose. The Tinospora root extract has been reported to decrease the levels of glycosylated haemoglobin also.
Scientific study has shown that regular intake of Guduchi Extract helps to stimulate the growth of osteoblasts (bone cells), increase the differentiation of cells into the osteoblastic lineage, increase into the mineralization of bone-like matrix and to induce a significant increase in the thickness of joint cartilage, which in all helps to prevent osteoporosis and osteoarthritis.
