Contacare Tear Strips are made of filter paper. It has a calibrated scale printed on the strips. This will provide an easier and more precise reading. These strips are inddividually wrapped and are gauged so they can be easily read.

Uses:

• Tear strips are used to measure the amount of tear production

• Commonly used in the Schirmer test, which assesses reflex tear production without anesthesia

• Reading: After 5 minutes, remove the strip and record the amount of wetting in millimeters
