- Deflate the Cuff: Gradually release the pressure from the cuff by turning the release valve counterclockwise. Listen for the first thumping sound (systolic pressure) with the stethoscope
- Release the Cuff: Completely deflate the cuff and remove it from the patient’s arm
- Repeat if Necessary: If the first measurement seems abnormal or inconsistent, wait a few minutes and then repeat the process for accuracy. Take multiple measurements if needed
