These medicines are related to a natural hormone (ADH or vasopressin) in the body that helps regulate the water and salt balance. They are used in the treatment of diabetes insipidus and bed-wetting. Some of these medicines may also be used to treat bleeding esophageal varices and low blood pressure (shock).
