Espinha-GA Capsule is a combination medicine used for the treatment of neuropathic pain. This medicine decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells.
Espinha-GA Capsule is taken by mouth with or without food, preferably at bedtime. It is advised to take medicine at the same time each day as this helps to maintain a consistent level of medicine in the body. Take this medicine in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. If you miss a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember. Finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. It is important that this medication is not stopped suddenly without talking to the doctor.
Some common side effects of this medicine are nausea, peripheral edema, ataxia, blurred vision, fever and nystagmus (involuntary eye movement). It may also cause dizziness and sleepiness, so do not drive or do anything that requires mental focus until you know how this medicine affects you. It is important to inform your doctor if you develop any unusual changes in mood or behavior, new or worsening depression, or suicidal thoughts.
Before taking the medicine you should tell your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to become pregnant, or breastfeeding. It can usually be mixed safely with other medicines but some drugs (including antacids and alcohol) do affect the way it works and can increase the chance of side effects.
Espinha-GA Capsule is a combination of medicines used to treat long-lasting (chronic) pain caused by nerve damage due to diabetes, shingles or spinal cord injury. It reduces pain and its associated symptoms such as mood changes, sleep problems, and tiredness. It is thought to work by interfering with pain signals that travel through the damaged nerves and the brain. Using this medicine regularly will improve your physical and social functioning and overall quality of life. It takes a few weeks to work so you need to use it regularly even if you feel it is not doing any good. Once your symptoms have gone you should still keep using the medicine until your doctor advises you to stop.

How Espinha-GA Capsule works
Espinha-GA Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. Gabapentin is an alpha 2 delta ligand which decreases pain by modulating calcium channel activity of the nerve cells. Methylcobalamin is a form of vitamin B which helps in the production of myelin, a substance that protects nerve fibers and rejuvenates damaged nerve cells. Together, they relieve neuropathic pain (pain from damaged nerves).

I am suffering from Burning feet since 7-8 yrs and the Nerve Conduction test in 2015 revealed mild peripheral neuropathy. Blood tests revealed very low B12(190) & D3 levels (15) I have Vitiligo since last 25 years and hence I was told that absorbtin of B12 orally will be very low. Hence I took B12 weekly injections for 4 months and then continuing once a month 1500mg, For D3, T took the sachets 60k every week for 6 months. I was prescribed Gabapin NT 1 Tab each night. Currently, my burning feet have reduced by 70% and Vit 12 shots seems to be helping. However I seem to have gained weight. Earlier I used to be 72-74kgs and now I am 81- 82Kgs. Kindly advise : 1. Which B complex injection is recommended for burning feet, considering my B12 levels are around 400 now. 2. I seem to be maintaining higher weight, could it be due to Gabapin NT ? Can I stop it ? or is there a better medicine for the burning feet which is evident towards the evening time. 3. Since my Uric acid levels are around 9, I take Zyloric 100mg 2 times a day and now Uric acid level is around 6. Can I reduce to 1 tab/day ? Pls reply for all 3 points. Thank you, Dr.Balaji PATIENT

I can only respond to the message in English- Memory/ cognitive disturbances in younger age especially inability to recall recent events like where you kept something are more often caused by stress and preoccupation rather than a neurological problem. Nervousness and anxiety makes one not concentrate adequately leading to forgetfulness. Students often complain of not being able able to remember what they read. This is often the result of too much stress/ tension. Identify your stressors and learn to relax. Take time off. When not able to recall something, don't get all frantic about it, leave the effort for a while and relax. It will cure the memory issues. If you are unable to do that, seek professional help.
Espinha-GA Capsule is a combination of two medicines: Gabapentin and Methylcobalamin. This medication is useful in the treatment of pain due to nerve damage (peripheral neuropathy). This medication works by regenerating damaged nerves in the body and decreasing the pain sensation.
What is peripheral neuropathy?
The nerves in the periphery of your body, such as the nerves in your toes and fingertip are called peripheral nerves and any damage to one or more of these nerves is called peripheral neuropathy. These nerves carry messages to/from the brain and spinal cord from/to the rest of the body. A damage caused to these nerves stops them from functioning properly and the messages traveling between your central and peripheral nervous system get disrupted.
Can I stop taking Espinha-GA Capsule when my pain is relieved?
No, take Espinha-GA Capsule for the full prescribed length of time. Your symptoms may improve before the nerves are completely regenerated and healed.
Can the use of Espinha-GA Capsule cause sleepiness?
Yes, the most common side effect of Espinha-GA Capsule is sleepiness. Do not drive, operate heavy machinery or engage in other activities that need your full attention. Do not drink alcohol while taking Espinha-GA Capsule as it can lead to severe sleepiness , causing falls or accidents.
Can I take a higher than the recommended dose of this medicine?
No, taking a higher than the recommended dose of Espinha-GA Capsule can lead to increased chances of side effects and toxicity. If you are experiencing increased severity of your symptoms that are not relieved by the recommended doses, please consult your doctor for re-evaluation.
