If you missed your dose and you are late by 12 hours in taking the missed dose, in that case, you must use a condom during intercourse for a period of 2 days.

The most common side effects of this medicine include headache, nausea, vomiting, weight gain, and acne. If these side effects persist or worsen, consult your doctor. They may suggest ways to minimize or prevent them.

Femfolin 50mg Capsule can often disrupt your menstrual cycle, so consult your doctor if this happens regularly. Uses of Femfolin Capsule

Benefits of Femfolin Capsule

Contraception
Femfolin 50mg Capsule is a contraceptive medicine that stops you from getting pregnant in multiple ways. Firstly, it prevents an egg from being released from your ovaries. Secondly, it makes the fluid (mucus) in your cervix thicker, which makes it more difficult for sperm to enter the womb. Additionally, it prevents thickening of the lining of your womb, thereby making it unfavourable for an egg to grow in it. Femfolin 50mg Capsule is a reliable and safe method for contraception, if used correctly. It does not interrupt with sex and you can lead a normal routine life without any worries. Take it as directed by the doctor to get the most benefit.

How to use Femfolin Capsule

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Femfolin 50mg Capsule may be taken with or without food.

How Femfolin Capsule works

Femfolin 50mg Capsule is a progestin (female hormone). It works by preventing the release of an egg from the ovary or preventing the fertilization of the egg by sperm. It may also work by changing the lining of the uterus (womb) and increasing the thickness of cervical mucus to prevent pregnancy.

Quick tips

  • Take Femfolin 50mg Capsule at the same time every day without skipping any days, even between packs.
  • If you are more than 12 hours late in taking a pill, you will not be protected against pregnancy. Use other contraceptive methods, such as condoms, for the next two days.
  • If you vomit within 2 hours of taking Femfolin 50mg Capsule, take another pill as soon as you feel well.
  • It may stop your periods or make them lighter, irregular, or more frequent. Inform your doctor if this bothers you.
  • Stop taking this medicine and inform your doctor immediately if you notice unexplained swelling and pain in your limbs, shortness of breath, chest pain, severe headache, or vision changes. These could be the symptoms of a blood clot in a vein.

Take this medicine as per your doctor's advice. Take Femfolin 50mg Capsule at about the same time every day to ensure consistent levels of medicine in your body.
When you finish a pack, start the next pack straight away without having a break. You may have lighter, normal, or no periods while taking Femfolin 50mg Capsule. Continue taking Femfolin 50mg Capsule without waiting for your next period.
Femfolin 50mg Capsule is more than 99% effective when taken correctly. This means fewer than 1 woman in 100 who use the progestogen-only pill as contraception will get pregnant in 1 year. However, missing pills, vomiting, and diarrhea can make it less effective.
If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember and continue the usual dosing schedule. However, if the dose was missed by more than 12 hours, you may not be protected against pregnancy. To prevent pregnancy, use a non-hormonal contraceptive, like condoms, for at least the next seven days. Frequent missed doses may lead to unexpected vaginal bleeding or spotting (blood stain). Consult your doctor if this persists.
If you vomit within 3-4 hours of taking Femfolin 50mg Capsule, then it is considered a missed dose. So, you should take another dose.
You may experience irregular vaginal bleeding while taking Femfolin 50mg Capsule. Other common side effects include headache, nausea (feeling sick), acne, depression (sad mood), and breast pain. Most of them are temporary. If these persist, consult with your doctor.
The progesterone-only pill can also be used by women who are lactating. With progesterone-only pills, you would stay away from the side effects of estrogen, which are usually associated with combined oral contraceptive pills.
