Nivolumab 40mg Injection is used in the treatment of non-small cell lung cancer, kidney cancer, head and neck cancer, melanoma, Hodgkin's disease, and liver cancer.

Nivolumab 40mg Injection is given as an infusion into vein by a qualified medical professional. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.

Some common side effects of this medicine include rash, weakness, headache, and fever. Some serious side effects which may occur during infusion include chills or shaking, itching, rash, flushing, difficulty breathing and dizziness. Hence, your doctor will check you timely after infusion for allergic reaction.

Before taking it, tell your doctor if have lung disease, liver, or kidney problems or are taking any medicines to treat infections. Many other medicines can affect, or be affected by, this medicine so let your healthcare team know all medications you are using. In Hodgkin’s disease

Hodgkin’s disease is a type of lymphoma, which is a blood cancer that starts in the lymphatic system. The lymphatic system helps the immune system get rid of waste and fight infections. Nivolumab 40mg Injection kills or stops the growth of cancer cells and also prevents the multiplication of cancer cells. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully.

In Liver cancer

Liver cancer is the cancer that develops in the cells of the liver called hepatocytes. There may be no symptoms present in the early stages of the cancer but as the disease advances to later stages symptoms such as weight loss, stomach pain, vomiting and yellowed skin. Nivolumab 40mg Injection kills the cancer cells and prevents further growth and spread of cancer to other unaffected areas. Follow your doctor’s instructions carefully and do not drink alcohol or smoke. Alcohol intake or smoking can worsen your condition and hinder your recovery.

Interaction with drugs

Taking Nivolumab with any of the following medicines can modify the effect of either of them and cause some undesirable side effects
Concurrent use may increase the risk of infections. Do not use Nivolumab with Herpes Zoster / Shingles Vaccine (Recombinant, Adjuvanted).
Concurrent use may increase the risk of infections. Do not use Nivolumab with Purified Vi Polysaccharide Typhoid Vaccine.
Concurrent use may increase the risk of infections. Do not use Nivolumab with Cholera Vaccine (Inactivated).
Methylprednisolone may interfere with the effects of Nivolumab. Do not consume Nivolumab with Methylprednisolone. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.
Betamethasone may interfere with the effects of Nivolumab. Do not consume Nivolumab with Betamethasone. If concurrent use is essential, please consult your doctor.
