Product introduction
Ozurdex Injection is generally given to patients who do not respond to any other therapy. It is administered by a doctor or a nurse in a hospital or clinical setting. It should not be self-administered at home.
Use of Ozurdex Injection may cause increased intraocular pressure, cataract, and conjunctival hemorrhage. It may also cause an eye infection, swelling, and blurred vision in some people. You will need to be monitored on a regular basis after the implant. If your eye becomes red, sensitive to light, painful, or develops a change in vision, you should seek immediate help from your doctor.

Ozurdex Injection is a biodegradable implant containing a steroid. It works by blocking the action of certain chemical messengers that cause inflammation, leakage from the blood vessels of the retina, and swelling (edema) of the retina.
Quick tips
- Ozurdex Injection is an implant that is injected into the eye for the treatment of macular edema.
- It dissolves slowly over months and releases a corticosteroid called dexamethasone.Once placed, it does not need to be removed.
- It may cause temporary blurring of vision. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how it affects you.
- It may cause eye infection, inflammation, or increased eye pressure. Your doctor will monitor you regularly after the injection.
- Inform your doctor immediately if your eyes becomes red, sensitive to light, painful, or if you notice a change in your vision.
