How Pezolin C Eye Drop works
Pezolin C Eye Drop is a combination of four medicines: Naphazoline, Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Methylcellulose and Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate. Naphazoline is a decongestant which narrows the blood vessels in the eye, thereby reducing redness and inflammation (swelling). Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic. It blocks the action of a chemical messenger (histamine) which is responsible for red, itchy, watery eyes. Methylcellulose is a lubricant similar to natural tears. It provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort in the eye. Phenyl Mercuric Nitrate is an antimicrobial preservative.

Quick tips
- Your doctor has prescribed Pezolin C Eye Drop to cure your eye infection and improve your symptoms.
- Use it twice a day (in the morning and the evening). If your symptoms are particularly severe, your doctor may suggest you use them up to four times a day.
- In case the dropper tip gets contaminated, squeeze out two or three drops straightaway onto some tissue and rinse the tip with saltwater.
- Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute, immediately after putting the medication. This will prevent the medication from draining out. Try not to blink or rub your eye.
- Do not wear contact lenses until your infection clears up.
- Eye infections can cause your eyes to become more sensitive to sunlight than usual. Wearing sunglasses may help to prevent this.
- Along with using Pezolin C Eye Drop, give a warm compress to your eyes to get relief from itching and burning sensation.
- Take care to avoid spreading the infection from one eye to the other, and to other members of your family. Washing your hands regularly (particularly after touching your eyes) and not sharing towels or pillows will help to prevent the infection from spreading.
