Sandostatin LAR 10mg Injection is used in the treatment of acromegaly, carcinoid tumors, and bleeding esophageal varices. It is also used to prevent complications following surgery of the pancreas.

Sandostatin LAR 10mg Injection is generally given by a healthcare professional. You should not self-administer this medicine at home. Your doctor will decide the dose and how often you should take them. You should use it regularly to get the most benefit from the medicine. Do not stop using the medicine even if you feel better unless the doctor tells you so.

Using this medicine may cause few common side effects such as diarrhea, abdominal pain, nausea, constipation, flatulence, and headache. Let your doctor know if any of these side effects do not go away or get worse. Before using this medicine, inform your doctor if you have problems with your liver. I am undergoing treatment for Neuroendocrine Tumor since 19th November 2015. I am taking an injection, Sandostatin LAR 20mg, since 30th November 2015 every four weeks intervals. After taking 12 injections, I stopped it for 15 weeks according to doctor's advice. But restarted the same injection when I had loose motion. I have taken 18 injections so far. I am not taking any other medicines. My weight was only 67 kgs on 20th Nov. 2015, now my weight is 75 kgs. I have no health problems so far, I am following my normal life as other healthy guys Please advise me how long should I take this expensive injection.
