Product introduction

T-Pill Tablet is an anti-progestational steroid class of drug used for medical termination of pregnancy. It works by blocking the action of progesterone, an essential hormone for the development of pregnancy.

T-Pill Tablet is given alone or in combination with some other medicine to attain the maximum benefit. It should be taken with food or as your doctor's advice. It should be taken orally, by swallow the tablets whole with a glass of water. If you experience vomiting within 45 minutes of tablet intake, inform your doctor or take another tablet. The medicine may take 24- 48 hours to show its action and you experience bleeding.

The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, uterine cramps, diarrhea, infection following abortion, and uterine bleeding. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. If you experience heavy vaginal bleeding or abdominal pain on taking this medicine, you should inform your doctor immediately.

Before taking this medicine, tell your doctor if you have ever had an ectopic pregnancy, or you are breastfeeding or using an intrauterine device. Your doctor should also know about all other medicines you are taking as many of these may make this medicine less effective or change the way it works. You must avoid strenuous activity like heavy exercise, running, and driving while abortion as it can affect the bleeding. Your doctor may perform an ultrasound or pelvic examination to check for abortion completion.

What is T-Pill Tablet and what it is used for?

T-Pill Tablet contains a medicine called Mifepristone. It helps in medical termination of the pregnancy. It works by blocking the effect of progesterone (a female sex hormone) which is required for maintenance of pregnancy. It is only used to terminate a pregnancy which should not be more than 63 days old, counting from the first day of the last menstrual period.

How and in what dose should I use T-Pill Tablet?

T-Pill Tablet can be taken orally with a glass of water. It should be taken under the supervision of a doctor.

What should I expect after taking T-Pill Tablet?

You may or may not experience vaginal bleeding or spotting after taking this medicine. After 48 hours of taking T-Pill Tablet, your doctor shall examine you and may prescribe you another medicine (Misoprostol) for complete termination of pregnancy. After 14 days of taking T-Pill Tablet, your gynaecologist may run some blood tests or perform ultrasonography to confirm whether the pregnancy has been terminated or not.

Can T-Pill Tablet affect my future chances of getting pregnant?

No, studies have shown that this medicine does not impair the fertility of the women. Your future chances of getting pregnant are as equal as of those who have not taken this medicine.

What are the common side effects of taking T-Pill Tablet?

Vaginal bleeding and abdominal cramping are the most common side effects of using T-Pill Tablet. The other common side effects include diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting. If you experience a very heavy vaginal bleeding or if any of these side effects bother you please consult with your gynaecologist.
