X TRANT 140 MG CAPSULE is used in the treatment of cancer of the prostate gland. It may be also used to treat other conditions, as determined by the doctor. It is sometimes used with certain other medicines as part of combination chemotherapy.
X TRANT 140 MG CAPSULE should be taken on an empty stomach. The calcium in the stomach might affect the working of drug, so better to avoid milk, dairy products such as cheese and avoid taking it in combination with an antacid or other medicine containing calcium, magnesium or aluminum. Your doctor will decide what dose is necessary and how often you need to take it. This will depend on what you are being treated for and may change from time to time. You should take it exactly as your doctor has advised. It may take several weeks or months for you to see or feel the benefits but do not stop taking it unless your doctor tells you to.
The most common side effects of this medicine include nausea, vomiting, anemia (low number of red blood cells), increased liver enzymes and fluid retention. If these bother you or appear serious, let your doctor know. There may be ways of reducing or preventing them. Regular blood tests are required to check your blood, liver function and the level of calcium in your blood.

Prostate gland is a small walnut-sized gland that produces a fluid called seminal fluid that nourishes and transports sperms in males. The most common symptom of prostate cancer is difficulty with urination, but sometimes there are no symptoms at all. X TRANT 140 MG CAPSULE decreases or stops the growth of cancer cells by decreasing the amount of testosterone (natural hormone in males) in men. This also relieves difficulty in passing urine and makes it easier for you to urinate.

How X Trant Capsule works
Estramustine belongs to a class of anticancer/cytotoxic drugs called antimicrotubule agents. It works by interfering with production of certain proteins which are necessary for tumor cell growth and reproduction. It also increases the estrogen levels, which in turn interferes with prostate cancer by slowing/stopping the growth of cancer cells.
