Yervoi 50mg Injection is a medicine used to treat a kind of skin cancer called melanoma. It is used when the melanoma has spread or cannot be removed by surgery. Yervoi 50mg Injection boosts the immune system to attack cancer cells more effectively and kills them. It also prevents the growth and further spread of the cancer cells.
Yervoi 50mg Injection is generally given under the supervision of a docotr or a nurse. Do not self-administer this medicine at home. Taking it in the wrong way or taking too much can cause very serious side effects. It is injected into your vein through an intravenous (IV) line. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of the treatment. Get the injection for as long as the doctor prescribes it. Your doctor may also do blood tests before starting and during treatment with this medicine.
The most common side effects of this medicine include feeling tired, diarrhea, nausea, itching, rash, vomiting, and headache. Inform your doctor if any of these side effects persist or bother you. Your doctor may suggest ways to prevent the side effects. Tell your doctor right away if you get symptoms, such as chills, itching or rash, flushing, shortness of breath, dizziness, or feel like passing out, during the infusion.
Before you receive Yervoi 50mg Injection, tell your doctor if you have immune system problems, have had an organ transplant, or have liver problems. Let your doctor also know about all the medicines you take, including all prescription and over-thecounter medicines, vitamins, and herbal supplements. Pregnant and nursing mothers should not take this medicine as it may harm the developing baby. Women who are planning for pregnancy should use effective birth control during treatment with this medicine and for 3 months after the last dose.
