Gilteritinib Uses
Gilteritinib is used in the treatment of acute myeloid leukemia, pancreatic cancer, small cell lung cancer, liver cancer, kidney cancer, thyroid cancer, blood cancer (chronic myeloid leukaemia), gastrointestinal stromal tumour, cancer of colon and rectum, non-small cell lung cancer, soft tissue sarcoma, chronic idiopathic myelofibrosis and breast cancer.
How Gilteritinib works
Gilteritinib works by inhibiting the activity of FLT3, a receptor tyrosine kinase that is often mutated and overactive in certain cases of acute myeloid leukemia (AML). By blocking FLT3 signaling, it helps disrupt the growth and survival of leukemia cells, ultimately slowing their proliferation and promoting their destruction. This targeted action helps to control the progression of AML and improve treatment outcomes.

- It may cause serious bleeding problem. Inform your doctor if you get headaches, stomach pain or if you notice blood in your urine or stools.
- Do not take this medicine if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding.
