How Gimeracil + Oteracil + Tegafur works
Gimeracil + Oteracil + Tegafur is a combination of anticancer medications. Tegafur gets converted to its active form known as 5-fluorouracil (5-FU) that inhibits the synthesis and function of genetic material DNA and RNA and prevents the growth of cancer cells. Gimeracil prevents the breakdown of 5-FU, which helps maintain high concentrations of 5-FU against cancer cells. Oteracil suppresses 5-FU’s gastrointestinal toxicity.
