3D scan of the left hip joint is an imaging study where a series of digital photos are secured as the patient is made to move through a machine. With this method, doctors are able to get more detailed information than an X-ray image. This scan is useful for identifying the reason behind hip pain. 3D scans are also used for securing presurgical measurements of specific hip conditions, including osteoid osteoma or femoroacetabular impingement.
