Understanding Ultrasound 3D Pelvis
What is Ultrasound 3D Pelvis?
The Ultrasound 3D Pelvis test is a scan of the internal organs of the body by using high-frequency sound waves. Ultrasound is useful for examining the internal organs of the pelvis (including the liver, pancreas, kidneys, gallbladder, spleen, and urinary bladder).
It is used to diagnose and assess the damage after an illness like hepatitis, pancreatitis, appendicitis, and nephrolithiasis and also monitor pregnancy and the fetus. Its sensitivity and specificity are close to 100% for diagnosing uterine problems, comparable with MRI and laparoscopy. Various tumors can also be detected, thereby helping in the containment of the carcinomas.
The test itself doesn't have risks. Unlike X-rays, ultrasound doesn't use radiation.
