Understanding Ultrasound Scrotal
What is Ultrasound Scrotal?
Ultrasound Scrotal is used to visualize scrotum and other organs including testicles and epididymis (tubes immediately next to the testicles that collect sperm). Scrotum is a flesh-covered sac that hangs between the legs at the base of the penis and contains the testicles.
This scan is advised to a patient complaining of scrotal pain and swelling.
It helps to check the Cyst/tumor in scrotum, size and symmetry of testicles, lump in one or both of the testicles, reason for pain in the testicles and abnormal blood flows in the testicles caused by testicular torsion. It is also recommended to determine the cause of infertility in males.
