Understanding Ultrasound Fibroscan - Strain Elastography Liver
What is Ultrasound Fibroscan - Strain Elastography Liver?
Ultrasound Fibroscan - Strain Elastography Liver is an imaging technique used to detect liver fibrosis. Fibrosis reduces blood flow to the liver which results in buildup of scar tissue. Early diagnosis and treatment can mitigate or reverse the effects of fibrosis. If left untreated, fibrosis can lead to fatal liver conditions such as cirrhosis, liver cancer and liver failure.
Symptoms of liver disease include Itching, heavy nosebleeds, swelling in the legs, weight loss and confusion. The test result is a measure of stiffness of liver which indicates the degree of fibrosis.
