It works by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Thus, it stops the bacteria from growing, and prevents the infection from spreading. Azithromycin + Lactic acid bacillus2 are inactivated bacteria that are good for the gut. They prevent the growth of the other pathogenic bacteria that cause diarrhea or other bacterial infections.
