How Extraclav Products work
Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus is a combination of three medicines: Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus1, Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus2, and Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus3. Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus1 and Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus2 are antibiotics which work by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering that is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Together, they eradicate your infection effectively. Amoxycillin + Cloxacillin + Lactobacillus3 is a live microorganism which restores the balance of good bacteria in the intestine that may get upset with antibiotic use or due to intestinal infections.

Frequently asked questions about Extraclav Products
Frequently asked questions about Extraclav Products
Q. Why has my child been prescribed Extraclav Plus LB Capsule?
Extraclav Plus LB Capsule contains two active antibiotics and one probiotic. Giving a combination of two antibiotics increases the efficiency of the medicine and helps in killing the resistant bacteria. The addition of probiotics helps reduce the side effects, such as diarrhea, which can occur due to the prolonged intake of antibiotics.
Q. Can I give Extraclav Plus LB Capsule to my child repeatedly for a long time?
Giving your child Extraclav Plus LB Capsule for a long-term can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe gastrointestinal infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own and give Extraclav Plus LB Capsule to your child exactly as prescribed. Additionally, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Extraclav Plus LB Capsule can make the bacteria resistant.
Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of Extraclav Plus LB Capsule?
Although rare, Extraclav Plus LB Capsule may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Extraclav Plus LB Capsule?
Extraclav Plus LB Capsule can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Inform your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Extraclav Plus LB Capsule.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Extraclav Plus LB Capsule?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they fully recover from the illness. Post recovery from illness, the child can take the vaccine after consulting the doctor.
Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
In conditions like the common cold, the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time, but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.
Q. Is Extraclav Plus LB Capsule safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?
No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case as a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Extraclav Plus LB Capsule.
Q. Is it safe to give Extraclav Plus LB Capsule to children suffering from jaundice?
