How Furoz CV Products work
Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid is a combination of two medicines: Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid1 and Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid2. Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid1 is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria in the human body. Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid2 is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which blocks the action of enzymes produced by bacteria to inactivate Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid1. Addition of Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid2 reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Cefuroxime + Clavulanic Acid1 against bacteria.

Frequently asked questions about Furoz CV Products
Frequently asked questions about Furoz CV Products
Q. My child is underweight and is not growing as per his age. Is it safe to give Furoz CV Dry Syrup?
Use Furoz CV Dry Syrup with caution as it may be associated with blood clotting problems especially in children who are underweight and not growing adequately. This risk is further increased if the child has underlying liver and kidney disease. Consult your child’s doctor in such cases.
Q. My child is suffering from a seizure disorder. Can I give Furoz CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Furoz CV Dry Syrup may cause seizure activity, particularly in children who have kidney disease. So, Furoz CV Dry Syrup should be used with caution in children with a history of seizure disorder. If seizures occur, discontinue Furoz CV Dry Syrup and visit your child’s doctor right away.
Q. What if I give too much of Furoz CV Dry Syrup by mistake?
An extra dose of Furoz CV Dry Syrup is unlikely to harm. However, if you think you have given too much of Furoz CV Dry Syrup to your child, immediately speak to a doctor. Overdose may cause unwanted side effects and may even worsen your child’s condition.
Q. For how long do I need to give Furoz CV Dry Syrup to my child?
Give Furoz CV Dry Syrup for as long as advised by the doctor. Usually, it takes 3 to 5 days for the infection to start improving. However, you must still finish the full course of the medicine and never stop it abruptly by yourself as that may worsen your child’s condition or cause infection recurrence.
Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of Furoz CV Dry Syrup?
Some serious side effects of this medicine include persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Furoz CV Dry Syrup?
Furoz CV Dry Syrup can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Furoz CV Dry Syrup. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.
Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Furoz CV Dry Syrup ?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Q. Does a common cold caused by viruses always result in a secondary bacterial infection? When to start an antibiotic to prevent infection?
In most cases, bacterial infections do not follow viral infections. Using antibiotics to treat viral infections may instead lead to side effects without benefiting your child's health. Hence, you must give antibiotics to your child only after consulting with your child’s doctor.
Q. Can Furoz CV Dry Syrup impact my child’s digestion?
Antibiotics kill the infection-causing bacteria, but while doing this they may affect the good bacteria present in the gastrointestinal tract. As a result, your child may develop diarrhea or some other infections as well. Moreover, children have a more sensitive stomach than adults, so the likelihood of developing a stomach upset is more. In case your child is having diarrhea while on Furoz CV Dry Syrup, do not stop the medicine course. Instead, call your child’s doctor to ask about the next steps. In some cases, the doctor may alter the dose.
