Ampicillin + Sulbactam is a combination of two medicines: Ampicillin + Sulbactam1 and Ampicillin + Sulbactam2. Ampicillin + Sulbactam1 is an antibiotic. It works by preventing the formation of the bacterial protective covering which is essential for the survival of bacteria. Ampicillin + Sulbactam2 is a beta-lactamase inhibitor which reduces resistance and enhances the activity of Ampicillin + Sulbactam1 against bacteria.
