How Vonavir Products work

Emtricitabine + Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate + Efavirenz is a combination of three antiviral medicines: Emtricitabine + Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate + Efavirenz1, Emtricitabine + Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate + Efavirenz2 and Emtricitabine + Tenofovir disoproxil fumarate + Efavirenz3. They work by preventing HIV (virus) from multiplying, thereby reducing the amount of virus in your body. They also increase the CD4 cell (white blood cells that protect against infection) count in your blood.

Patient Concerns about Vonavir Products

Frequently asked questions about Vonavir Products

Q. What is Vonavir Tablet used for?

Vonavir Tablet is an antiretroviral medicine used to treat HIV infection. It helps lower the amount of virus in the blood and keeps the immune system stronger, but it does not cure HIV or prevent its spread to others.

Q. Does Vonavir Tablet prevent me from spreading HIV to others?

No. Vonavir Tablet lowers the amount of HIV in your body but does not prevent transmission. To protect others, always use condoms during sex and avoid sharing needles.

Q. Who should not take Vonavir Tablet?

Individuals should not take Vonavir Tablet if they are allergic to any of its ingredients, have severe liver disease, or are younger than 18 years old. It is also not for use during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Q. Can Vonavir Tablet cause serious side effects?

Yes. Serious side effects of Vonavir Tablet can occur. These include allergic reactions with swelling and breathing problems, lactic acidosis (a dangerous build-up of acid in the blood), severe liver damage, worsening of hepatitis B infection, kidney problems, and psychiatric issues such as severe depression or suicidal thoughts.

Q. What precautions should I take before starting Vonavir Tablet?

Before starting Vonavir Tablet, tell your doctor if you have a history of liver disease, hepatitis B, bone problems, kidney problems, seizures, or mental health conditions. You should also inform your doctor about all other medicines you take, including herbal and over-the-counter medicines.
