How Glycohale FB Inhaler works

Glycohale FB Inhaler is a combination of three medicines : Glycopyrrolate, Formoterol, and Budesonide. Glycopyrrolate is an anticholinergic medication. It works by blocking the activity of a chemical messenger (acetylcholine) in the brain. Formoterol is a bronchodilator. It works by relaxing the muscles in the airways and widens airways. This makes breathing easier. Budesonide is a steroid which works by blocking the production of certain chemical messengers in the body that cause inflammation (redness and swelling) and allergies.

  • If at any time your breathing gets worse, please contact your doctor or nurse for advice straightaway.
  • Gargle with warm water after each inhalation to avoid any fungal infections in your mouth and throat.
  • Do not smoke. Smoking causes irritation and damage to the lungs and will make your condition worse.
  • If you have diabetes you may need to check your blood glucose more frequently, as Glycohale FB Inhaler can affect the levels of sugar in your blood. Your doctor will advise you about this.
  • If you are overweight, it is advisable to lose weight. This is because being overweight means that you have to work much harder to breathe in to inflate your lungs.

Frequently asked questions

Glycohale FB Inhaler is used to help people with long‑term lung diseases such as chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), chronic bronchitis, or emphysema breathe more easily. It helps reduce flare‑ups and keeps the airways open for smoother breathing over time.
No. Glycohale FB Inhaler is not a rescue inhaler. It does not work quickly enough to relieve sudden attacks of breathlessness. You should always keep a fast‑acting rescue inhaler handy for sudden breathing problems.
Individuals should not use Glycohale FB Inhaler if they are allergic to any of its ingredients (budesonide, glycopyrrolate, or formoterol). It is also not suitable for children under 18 years. People with severe kidney or liver problems should consult their doctor before using it.
Before starting Glycohale FB Inhaler, tell your doctor if you have heart disease, high blood pressure, seizures, thyroid problems, diabetes, prostate issues, glaucoma, or liver or kidney disease. These conditions can affect how your body reacts to this medicine.
Serious side effects of Glycohale FB Inhaler may include chest pain, irregular heartbeat, vision changes, worsening breathing, allergic reactions such as swelling or rash, or symptoms of infection like fever or chills. Seek immediate medical attention if you experience any of these symptoms.
Glycohale FB Inhaler contains budesonide, a type of corticosteroid, which may slightly lower your body’s ability to fight infections. Wash your mouth after each use and contact your doctor if you develop thrush (white patches in your mouth) or a persistent cough.
Long‑term use of Glycohale FB Inhaler may increase the risk of eye problems such as glaucoma or cataracts and may slightly weaken bones. Regular check‑ups can help detect these issues early.
No. You should continue using Glycohale FB Inhaler every day as prescribed, even when you feel well. Stopping it suddenly can cause your COPD symptoms to return or worsen.
While using Glycohale FB Inhaler, avoid exposure to people with contagious infections such as chickenpox or measles, as the steroid part of this medicine can reduce your resistance to infections.
