An Allergy - Adult Comprehensive Panel, ImmunoCAP is a specialized test that evaluates Total IgE (antibodies produced by the immune system in response to allergens) as well as specific IgE against 28 different allergy-causing substances or allergens using the Immunocap technique. These allergens include food, dust, trees, molds, grasses, weeds, pet dander, etc. The test results help determine the cause of the allergy and aid in deciding the course of treatment.

An allergy occurs when the immune system mistakenly identifies a harmless substance (allergens) as harmful and produces an inappropriate response by producing antibodies (specific proteins) called Immunoglobulin E (IgE). An Allergy - Adult Comprehensive Panel, ImmunoCAP includes the Total IgE test, a blood test used to measure the complete IgE levels in the blood. Total IgE
