What is Color Doppler Carotid?
Color Doppler Carotids is an ultrasound technique to monitor blockages in the carotid arteries located along both sides of the neck. Blocked carotid arteries can result in stroke and other neurovascular diseases. This test is recommended by a physician suspects any symptoms of stroke such as numbness, sudden vision loss, garbled speech and inability to move on one or both sides of the body.
Unlike regular ultrasound it can show the blood flow as well in the arteries.
People having sedentary lifestyle, high blood pressure, high cholesterol levels, obesity, diabetes, a family history of arterial disease are more prone to carotid artery blockage.
