Understanding Ultrasound Whole Abdomen & TVS
What is Ultrasound Whole Abdomen & TVS?
USG whole abdomen is used to create images of organs in the abdomen, including the liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, and kidneys. This scan is performed to diagnose conditions such as enlarged organs, fluid in the abdominal cavity, gallstone, hernia, pancreatitis, kidney disease, liver cancer and appendicitis.
TVS (Trans vaginal ultrasound) also called an endovaginal ultrasound is a type of pelvic ultrasound used to examine female reproductive organs. It is an internal scan (through vagina) and creates images of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries, cervix, and vagina. It is recommended in case of pelvic pain, vaginal bleeding, infertility and abdominal pain.
