Anti-Soluble liver antigen (SLA) is a type of antibody found in patients suffering from hepatitis, an auto-immune disease. It is an ELISA-based in vitro test system for the qualitative determination of IgG antibodies against SLA in human serum. The anti-soluble liver antigen is detected in roughly one-third of the patients suffering from type 1 auto-immune hepatitis (AIH) but not in those suffering from type 2 AIH, primary sclerosing cholangitis or primary biliary cirrhosis.
